License

The Pacífico Python Client is proprietary software copyrighted by Pacifico Research. It is not distributed under an open-source license.

Copying or including some or all of the software in application software, digital copies, or hard copies is subject to the applicable proprietary terms supplied by Pacifico Research.

Commercial use

The license requires a user who wants commercial use to contact Pacifico Research to arrange an appropriate license. It identifies commercial use as including:

  • integrating or incorporating some or all source code into a product sold or licensed to third parties;
  • distributing binary or source code to third parties for use with a commercial product.

Obtain the current governing terms and Pacifico Research approval before commercial integration or redistribution.

Software versus data

The software license and rights to API-delivered data are separate:

  • a valid API token does not grant redistribution rights to the client source;
  • access to the client package does not grant unrestricted rights to API data;
  • upstream source/vendor restrictions can apply to particular financial datasets;
  • hosted-application inputs and outputs can have additional contractual controls.

Confirm both software and data terms for the intended users, systems, storage, territories, and redistribution model.

Contributions and distribution

Before accepting a contribution or publishing a build:

  1. confirm authority to modify and distribute the affected code;
  2. preserve required copyright/license notices;
  3. exclude third-party or confidential material that cannot be redistributed;
  4. inspect dependencies and bundled files for separate terms;
  5. obtain release approval from Pacifico Research.
